Job Summary:
The Sonographer, Level II, is accomplished in two or more of the following applications: General (abdominal, OB,-GYN, small parts, nuerosonology and breast) and Vascular Technology (carotid, venous and arterial), and presents the findings to the interpreting radiologist on the level appropriate with the ARDMS level II Sonographer.
Primary Duties:
1. Performs Ultrasound examinations in different specialties, including:
- General Ultrasound (Abdomen, Pelvic, Renal, Thyroid, Scrotal, Breast, MSK, Neurosonology, and Pediatrics; Assisting with Interventional Procedures, including biopsies, aspirations, localizations, Paracentesis, Thoracentesis, and OR/Cath Lab guidance).
- OB Ultrasound (First and 2nd Trimester OB, D & E Procedures, and amniocentesis)
- Vascular Ultrasound (Abdominal Vasculature, Venous Extremities, Arterial Extremities, Carotid Doppler, Renal Arterial Doppler, TIPS, Grafts, and ABI/Toe Pressures).
2. Analyzes patient’s general body configuration to analyze the most acceptable examination approach.
3, Assists with introduction or placement and the application of various ultrasound transducers.
4. Assists with introduction or placement of intra cavity devices, as well as needles designed for biopsy or amniocentesis.5.Provides portable examinations at bedside as requested by attending physicians and processes the documenting video film.
6.Performs other duties as assigned.
License, Certification, Education or Experience:
REQUIRED for the position:
● ARDMS-eligible by date of hire. ARDMS-certified in Abdomen and OB/GYN at a minimum by one year of employment.
● Vascular Certification (RVT) within two years of employment.
● Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound Program.
● Training specific to the operation and use of Ultrasound scanners
● Current Healthcare Provider BLS – American Heart Association by start date
