Perform ultrasonic diagnostic and vascular procedures.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Perform ultrasonic diagnostic procedures as ordered by physician for patients.
Schedule patients.
Explain procedures to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results.
Position patient select appropriate transducer, depending upon depth of field, structure to be identified, etc.
Conduct scanning procedures using ultrasound equipment. Move scanner over specified body area, adjust equipment to focus.
Assist physician in such procedures as needle biopsies, etc. Scan patient, mark patients body, determine angle for puncture, and assist as necessary maintaining sterile technique.
Provide radiologist with good history for diagnosis.
Enter exams in the Radiology Information System and PACS
Comply with established department policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental, and infection control.
Maintain department records (patient/other), reports, and files as required.
Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment, and supplies.
Keep work area clean, alert department director to equipment malfunctions, etc.
Attend in services and other meetings as required. Attendance of 50% of all department meetings is required
Technologists will take call
Can send images to both cloud systems
Perform other duties as directed by Diagnostic Imaging Director
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Perform other essential duties as assigned.
Requirements
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology Program.
ARDMS certified or registry eligible.
Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices prescribed by the hospital/clinic.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to sit and stand, intermittent 8 to 10 hours a day.
Must be able to use standard office equipment, including the telephone and computer keyboard.
Continuously works under pressure of near 100% accuracy while meeting inflexible deadlines.
Continuously utilizes manual/bi-manual dexterity, near vision, speech, and hearing.
Frequently stands, walks, sits and utilizes eye/hand coordination and color definition.
Occasionally reaches above shoulder, regularly required to life and/or carry up to 40 lbs.
