Examples of Work
This position’s primary focus is providing in-person and/or over-the-phone interpretation services for claimants with limited English proficiency in the Lexington area.
As time allows, this individual will also assist unemployed job seekers by providing reemployment and job search services. Responsibilities will include helping customers with unemployment insurance applications and requirements, conducting orientations and assessments, making referrals to appropriate services, and accurately documenting activities using agency systems. The role will also include educating customers on available American Job Center partner services and supporting eligibility-related processes.
Additional duties may include one or more of the following.
Review benefit payment system of unemployed Job Seekers subject to Reemployment Services and Eligibility Assessment program
Provide assistance with Unemployment Insurance Application, Unemployment Insurance Job Seeking Requirements, Reemployment Program Eligibility & Resume Builder.
Assist customers to complete pre-orientation assessments.
Provide referral services utilizing appropriate tools and resources.
Utilize technology to accurately and efficiently schedule, track and log all group and individual orientations, sessions, and case notes into system.
Understand & educate customers on all American Job Center partner services.
Assess ongoing eligibility for unemployment compensation and provide information for eligibility determinations.
Requirements / Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Coursework/training or experience in public contact, customer service, and/or performing and applying office/clerical support procedures, including the use of a personal computer, associated software, and office equipment.
Other: Must be bilingual in English/Somali or English/Vietnamese. Experienced computer and communication skills is a must.
