Sous Chef – Commissary Kitchen
Location: Little Ruby’s Café – New York, NY
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000

Little Ruby’s Café, renowned for its vibrant Australian-inspired dishes and warm hospitality, is seeking a dedicated Sous Chef to join our Commissary Kitchen team in NYC. The Commissary Kitchen plays a vital role in supporting all Little Ruby’s Café locations by ensuring seamless preparation and delivery of high-quality ingredients and dishes.

The Role
As a sous chef, you’ll help oversee kitchen operations at the commissary, ensuring the efficient preparation and distribution of ingredients and menu items to our locations. This is a key leadership role, perfect for a motivated culinary professional with experience in high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage kitchen operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Prepare and oversee the production of food items for all Little Ruby’s Café locations.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and uphold all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Manage inventory, assist with ordering, and control food costs during evening shifts.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef and day teams to ensure seamless operations across shifts.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, with leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle evening operations efficiently.
  • Expertise in food preparation and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and kitchen best practices.
  • Passion for supporting a dynamic and growing brand.
