 Rock’n Fish, an upscale seafood and steakhouse located on the edge of the Manhattan Beach Pier, is hiring a Sous Chef!

What you will do…

  • Show up for each shift with a positive attitude and demonstrate our Core Qualities of Friendliness, Show, Delight, and Promptness.
  • Open and manage shifts, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Manage labor cost during every shift (meal breaks, rest breaks, overtime, etc).
  • Keep the line set up and ready for success.
  • Motivate and coach the kitchen team as needed.
  • Educate servers on food and assist them in food-related guest requests-always take care of the guest!
  • Fill any gaps necessary (cooking on the line, expo, etc)
  • Work in conjunction with Front of House to create the perfect experience for our guests.
  • Abide by all Health Department regulations at all times, and ensure your team does as well.

This position is for you if you have…

  • Minimum 3 year of kitchen supervisory experience (lead cook, kitchen supervisor, Sous Chef)
  • Minimum 2-3 years culinary experience at a full-service restaurant
  • Long tenure with previous employers (minimum 2 years at each job)
  • Excellent communication and organization skills (bilingual preferred)
  • An inspiring leadership style that promotes trust and teamwork
  • A flexible schedule, including the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • The ability to perform under pressure
