Sous Chef

Racine Country Club is seeking an experienced, passionate, and team-oriented Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The Sous Chef will assist in overseeing day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring the highest quality food preparation and presentation, and helping lead and train staff. This role is essential in maintaining the culinary standards our members expect.

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, preparation, and execution for à la carte, banquet, and special event services
Supervise and support kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas in compliance with health and safety standards
Monitor food costs, inventory levels, and minimize waste
Ensure consistent food quality, presentation, and portion control
Help lead staff training and development
Step in and lead the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef

Qualifications

5+ years of culinary experience in a high-volume, upscale environment
1+ year in a supervisory or Sous Chef role preferred
Culinary degree or relevant certification a plus
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced setting
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering a great member experience
