Spa Barber

Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and professional Barber to join our luxury spa team. The Spa Barber will provide high-quality grooming services including haircuts, shaves, beard trims, and other barbering treatments in a relaxing, upscale spa environment. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, knowledgeable in the latest trends, and committed to delivering exceptional service to all clients.

On-Call / Per Diem

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures the “The Hideaway experience” for members and guests.
• Adheres to policies and procedures of the facility.
• Reports any incident or accident to the Director.
• Understands and uses universal precautions when providing services. 
• Promote product knowledge and has complete knowledge of all spa services presently offered.
• Provide professional barbering services including haircuts, straight razor shaves, beard trims, and scalp treatments
• Consult with guests to determine their preferences and recommend styles or treatments
• Ensure a high level of sanitation and cleanliness throughout the workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations
• Maintain a professional, welcoming, and relaxing atmosphere for all spa guests
• Stay current on the latest barbering techniques, trends, and product knowledge
• Accurately process guest payments and maintain appointment scheduling as needed
• Collaborate with the spa team to ensure a seamless guest experience
• Understands all aspects of hair cutting to include precision cutting, razor, clipper and thinning shears.
• Performs shampoo treatments and various scalp massage techniques.
• Begins and ends all appointments on time. 
• Works assigned schedule.
• Informs Director of product needs.
• Creates and maintains client cards with treatment notes, when appropriate.
• Completes all assigned side work.
• Attends all scheduled meetings and professional trainings.
• Completes other duties assigned by the Director.
• Cleans and disinfects all equipment on a daily basis. 

REQUIREMENTS

• Valid Barber License in California
• Proven experience as a Barber, preferably in a spa, salon, or luxury environment
• Strong knowledge of current grooming trends, techniques, and tools
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to build rapport with guests and foster repeat business
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and evenings as needed
• Customer service experience, preferably in a spa.
• Ability to explain various treatments/services to members/guests.
• Excellent customer service skills and work ethic.
• Efficient, well organized, and able to handle a variety of duties simultaneously. 
• Energetic, enthusiastic and motivational.
• Professional manner, discretion, and appearance.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.
• Strong team player. 
• Ability to lift 25 lbs or more. 

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Relevant training certifications in industry topics helpful.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance 

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Criminal, Civil background clearance.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional club environment. This role has standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets. To include, but not limited to clubhouse offices, exterior grounds of the facility, parking garage, and other places. 

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 40 pounds is necessary for moving material and equipment; ability to stoop and kneel is necessary for accessing files; and necessary vision/sight ability to read documents and computer monitors.

Incumbents in this classification bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and inspect work sites. Incumbents must possess the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing up to 40 pounds or heavier weights with assistance and/or the use of proper equipment.
