Job Description - Space Control Research and Operational Support Analyst

Space Systems Integration (SSI) is a fast-growing engineering company that provides aerospace solutions to a variety of government and commercial customers.  Our employees are forward-thinking, self-directed individuals who are committed to solving our customers’ technical challenges.

SSI is seeking an experienced Space Control Research and Operational Support Analyst in Colorado Springs, CO.

This position will provide direct support to the customer by providing research, analysis for support to existing operational programs, and the integration of future programs/concepts.  This includes both ground and space segment analysis in support of all HQ functions to include operations, requirements and the Planning Programming Budgeting and Execution Program Objective Memorandum process. This is a full-time position and resides at the Government customer location at Peterson Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Role and Responsibilities:

·       Provide detailed research and analysis support for the assessment of current capabilities and the development of current and future.

·       Ability to integrate and assess analysis on adversary capabilities and impact to current and future operational programs.

·       Ability to work with internal/external organizations such as Space Warfighting Analysis Center (SWAC), Space Security and Defense Program(SSDP), USSF Pentagon Elements, USSF Operational Units, Combatant Commands (COCOM), Intelligence Community (IC), and various research and development organizations.

·       Provide support to the integrated Space Control Mission Area Team.

·       Provide support to the HQ USSF Space Control POM submissions.

·       Provide strategic planning and operational support for the execution of USSF Wargames.

·       Research and analyze issues requiring HQ interpretation, position or decision and reports, graphs, and presentations.

·       Provide analysis support to the review of policy, strategies, doctrine, law, regulations in support of HQ operations.

\nRequired Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 5+ years of related space control operational experience.
  • Must have an in-scope security background investigation (T5 or SSBI), be adjudicated for SCI eligibility, and be enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program (if applicable).
  • Must be willing to be nominated for access to Sensitive Compartment Information and Special Access Programs and willing to consent to a Polygraph examination. 
  • Strong presentation skills and experience interfacing with senior government officials.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), NIPR, SIPR, JWICS, NMIS and SGN.
  • Five years of experience in at least two of the following areas:
  • HQ AFSPC support (now USSF HQ SpOC)
  • Space Control mission area (operational planning and execution)
  • COCOM experience with operational planning
  • Intelligence Community experience
  • Joint Capability Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
  • Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE)
  • Travel is 10% of the time.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous experience or level of familiarity with the following;
  • Space Control Operational Unit Experience
  • HQ AFSPC Staff (MAJCOM Staff)
  • COCOM Planning and Operations
  • Operational Planning (OPLAN, CONPLAN development)
  • Operational support within the IC (NRO)

SSI has a target salary range: $150,000 - $175,000 which represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
