Position Overview
SSMA seeks a dynamic, visionary Spanish Immersion Instructional Coach who is eager to lead, support, and expand our dual language immersion program. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring cohesion, continuity, and excellence across all grade levels (PK3–6 or Primary though Upper Elementary), while mentoring and inspiring bilingual educators in our Montessori classrooms.

Key Responsibilities
Instructional Coaching & Support of Guides
•Support and grow the professional practice of Montessori immersion educators through thoughtful, culturally responsive coaching, observation, and feedback.
•Design and lead engaging, mission-aligned professional development for dual language staff.
•Foster reflective practice, standards-based curriculum alignment, and pedagogical excellence in both Spanish and English instruction.
Curriculum & Program Development
•Collaborate with Montessori and immersion staff to develop cohesive, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the school’s vision.
•Ensure lesson plans and classroom activities are rigorous, inclusive, and rooted in Montessori and dual language principles.
•Promote integrated thematic units, aligned scope and sequence, and intentional language development strategies.
Assessment & Evaluation
•Guide the implementation of comprehensive, Montessori-aligned assessments to monitor student progress in both languages.
•Evaluate program efficacy through regular classroom observations, data analysis, and collaboration with leadership.
•Support teachers in interpreting student data and using it to inform instruction.
Community Engagement & Collaboration
•Build trust and maintain strong partnerships with families, community organizations, and bilingual education networks.
•Represent SSMA at educational forums, recruitment events, and community celebrations.
•Ensure effective communication between English-dominant and Spanish-dominant programs, families, and staff.
Strategic Leadership
•Partner with the Principal, , and academic team to shape the long-term vision of the dual immersion language program.
•Assist with supporting immersion staff scheduling, recruitment, and substitute coverage as needed.
•Maintain compliance with OSSE, PCSB, and NCTFL and requirements, including tracking of professional development.
Mindset &
Qualifications
•Full professional fluency in Spanish and English required; native Spanish speakers strongly preferred.
•Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Education, Curriculum Development, Spanish, Linguistics, or related field highly preferred.
•Montessori certification (Primary and and/ or Elementary I-II) required;
•3–5+ years teaching experience in a bilingual or immersion setting; prior coaching or leadership experience highly desirable.
•Demonstrated excellence in communication, collaboration, and instructional design.
•Passion for mentoring educators and uplifting diverse learning communities.
•Maintain deep belief in SSMA’s mission and the transformative power of a bilingual, Montessori education.
•Commitment to cultural inclusivity, and lifelong learning.
•A collaborative spirit, open heart, and willingness to engage in complex conversations with compassion and purpose.
Compensation & Benefits
•Salary range: $85,000–$100,222, commensurate with education and experience.
