Job Description - SPD Coordinator

SPD Coordinator
Central Services

The SPD Coordinator will:
Be responsible for all coordinating and supervising all Sterile Processing responsibilities for the shift. Collaborates with Manager of SPD in evaluating the needs of SPD staff and Operating Room.

Requirements:

• Ability to interpret and understand charts and gauges associated with sterilization equipment.

• Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with SPD, OR, Medical and Nursing staff. at a level usually acquired through a High School education or equivalency.

• Two to three (2-3) years of prior Central Service experience.

• Requires standing and walking for prolonged period (90% of work time) as well as occasional lifting of equipment, supplies, etc., and pushing of autoclave cart and surgical case and Exchange carts.

• Ability to lift 25 pounds required.

Certifications

• Central Service/SPD Tech Certification through a national program recognized by the Department of Health and Senior Services
