Special Education Coordinator

Rooted School Indy is growing and looking for new Team Members to join our school. 

Position Overview:
SPED Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all students receiving special education services receive comprehensive, compassionate, and equitable services in order to achieve significant academic gains for all of our students with IEPs.
 

The SPED Coordinator will also be responsible for supporting Special Education students and teachers in delivering data driven high-quality special education services.  
 

The SPED Coordinator will work collaboratively with all SST Teammates (SW, Psychologist, MTSS Coordinator and SLP, Student Support Coordinator), Service Providers and families to provide a strong educational program for all rooted students.
 

The SPED Coordinator will lead the implementation, and management of  Special Education Program, policies, and procedures.

• Bachelor's Degree (required); Must have license in Special Education) (required)
• A minimum of 3 years teaching in a low-income school with demonstrated exemplary student results
• At least 3 years of work in a special education leadership role in a low-income school with demonstrated exemplary student results
• Ability to effectively manage instructional and non-instructional personnel
• Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
• Excellent communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to implement effective business systems that ensure proper stewardship of school funds
• Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making
• Knowledge in the selection, training, and supervision of personnel
• Knowledge of the laws, rules, procedures, and programs specifically related to the operation of a special education program
