Special Education Teacher- Elementary, SY25-26

Thank you for your interest in Skyline Education! Our South Phoenix Campus is looking for a certified special education teacher to work with our kindergarten through 4th grade population.  This is a resource and itinerant position with a caseload of approximately of 25 students. 

Responsibilities:

• Schedule, plan, and facilitate all IEP meetings for caseload.


• Schedule and attend all MET meetings for caseload; collaborate with the team and draft data for reports.


• Plan and deliver specially designed instruction using the most efficient and effective methodology for the students assigned.


• Conduct assessments for progress monitoring that are research based and appropriate for the students assigned.


• Collaborate and clearly communicate with parents/guardians, related service providers and other educators to assist in the students’ learning.


• Collaborate with general education teachers and assist with implementing modifications in a student’s education plan as required.


• Consult with other school staff as necessary to complete the functions of the position.


• Utilize preventive discipline methodology with assigned students.


• Model positive character virtues and habits. Assist students in developing positive moral and performance character attributes.


• Perform other duties as assigned by Principal, Director, & School Leaders

Skills and Requirements:

• Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.


• The ability to perform independently and in groups.


• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask when necessary.


• Knowledge of theory and practice of student learning styles.


• Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations and statutes.


• Ability to remain pleasant and calm under sometimes-stressful circumstances.


• Ability to communicate cooperatively and constructively with other staff, students and parents in a multicultural environment.


• Computer skills including word processing, database, spreadsheet and graphics.

Required License or Certification

• Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card


• Valid Arizona Special Education Teacher Certification
