What You'll Do

  • Create and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Maintain Individualized Education Plans in conjunction with state and federal requirements
  • Hold annual meetings with families to provide progress updates
  • Complete progress reports quarterly based on specific student goals
  • Complies with timelines and regulations as outlined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA)
  • Obtains and maintains compliant special education files
  • Deliver specialized instruction to students on his/her caseload
  • Develop lesson plans based on Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Deliver student instruction in modalities instituted by the school and assigned program in both pull-out and inclusion settings that is data-driven
  • Use flexible grouping and scheduling
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff
  • Provides assistance in developing and adapting curriculum materials to meet the needs of student and teachers
  • Maintains communication with related service providers and case managers to ensure compliance with the provision of services, evaluations and progress reports
  • Participate in weekly team meetings
  • Analyze data and reports to guide goal setting and instructional planning
  • Monitor student progress through a variety of tools and portfolios
  • Provide necessary supports to aid instruction in the general education setting
  • Proctor standardized tests
  • Communicate frequently and regularly with families of students, for both academic and behavior-related reasons, both positive and when needing assistance
  • Participate actively in ongoing professional development and teacher evaluation process
  • Supervise students and maintain a clean, orderly, safe, print-rich and positive classroom learning environment
  • Take on other responsibilities as needed, and as assigned, to ensure student and school success
  • Serve as an advisor to a small group of students; in this role:
    • Deliver a social-emotional skills curriculum;
    • Develop deep relationships with students in your advisory;
    • Develop and implement activities to build community within the advisory;
    • Serve as an advocate for advisees, for both academic and disciplinary reasons;
    • Provide regular updates and communication with advisees’ families;
    • Guide advisees in the preparation of their Student-Led Conferences each trimester;
    • Operate as liaison between advisees’ families and the school.

Work Schedule

Immediately- June 13, 2026 (M-F)

7:30am-3:30pm

Candidate MUST

    • ​Hold a Bachelor's degree from a four-year institution;
    • Must have Moderate/Severe certification and experience
    • Demonstrate experience in, or passion for, teaching diverse populations.
    • Be fully licensed or willing to obtain North Carolina  K-5, 6-8 and/or 9-12 teacher licensure;

In addition, the Teachers On Demand, INC. Team will look favorably upon candidates who:

TEACHER PREPARATION:

  • Have at least 2 years of full-time teaching experience;
  • Have experience teaching relevant Elementary School Content Area;
  • Have an advanced degree in a related field;
  • Have comfort with technology and experience with Google Suite;
  • Possess strong classroom management skills;
  • Are exceptionally organized and can prioritize effectively and meet competing deadlines;
  • Have experience with standards-based grading;
  • Have dual certification to teach Elementary School students and:
    • Exceptional Children 
    • Academically Gifted students 
    • English as a Second Language

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Demonstrate professional demeanor, strong self-confidence;
  • Possess excellent written communication skills;
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with diverse students, colleagues, and families;
  • Desire to work collaboratively with others in all aspects of the role;
  • Display unquestioned integrity, strong judgment, and decision-making skills;
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, start-up environment both independently and as part of a team.

This position includes medical insurance for the employee, with voluntary dental and vision plans, and spouse/family coverage. Our partner school provides access to a Flexible Spending Account for health and childcare expenses and an opportunity to contribute to a 403b retirement plan. They also provide the opportunity for employees to earn 10 PTO days each year (1/month). Full-time faculty members also receive priority in the student admissions process.
