New Special Education Teacher (SPED) Opportunity near NW Chicago

Attention! We are on the search for a capable and dedicated Special Education Teacher to take their skills to a school in Leyden, Illinois and work with our students for the 20232024 school year. This will be an onsite assignment and with the New Year upon us, the director is eager to schedule virtual or in-person interviews & aiming to hire promptly!

Job Description:

• Best Start Date: ASAP
• Projected End Date: June 7, 2024
• Contract Renewal: Contingent upon the candidate's success on the job assignment.
• Full-Time: 35 hrs/week
• Caseload: Middle School, Self-Contained classroom, around 8 students with moderate/severe mental/emotional disabilities (not physical) including anxiety, depression, & school-avoidant/ school-phobic behavior.
• Duties include evaluations, IEPs, direct/indirect services, meetings, and consults.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors or masters degree in special education or related field
• Must have PEL
• Valid Special Education Teaching License
• Must have all SPED credentials for State.
• Laws of Special Education laws and regulations.
• Familiarity with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and the ability to tailor instructions to meet diverse learning speeds.
