Special Education Tutor (3rd Grade - Literacy & Math Support for Non-verbal)

About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you’ll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP).

We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Beaumont, CA

Details:

• In-Person Tutoring in Beaumont, CA
• Schedule: 25 hours, 4 sessions a week
• Pay range is between $25 and $35

Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with elementary students with Autism or nonverbal learners.
• Familiarity with AAC devices and evidence-based instructional strategies for communication support.
• Strong understanding of early literacy, phonics, and foundational math instruction.
• Collaborative approach to working with ABA therapists, parents, and support teams.
• Patient, creative, and skilled at providing visual and hands-on learning opportunities.
• Preferred: Background in Special Education, Speech-Language Pathology, or related field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide targeted instruction in foundational literacy and math aligned with grade-level goals and the students’ IEP objectives.
• Reinforce phonics and early reading comprehension strategies, helping students identify and connect letter sounds.
• Support writing development, encouraging letter formation, word production, and expression through guided practice.
• Teach math concepts, including base-10 understanding, addition, subtraction, sequencing, and number sense (1–100).
• Integrate the use of AAC devices during instruction to promote communication and engagement.
• Collaborate with ABA therapists and related service providers to ensure consistency across behavioral and academic supports.
• Use positive reinforcement, structured routines, and visual supports to foster attention, participation, and confidence.
• Adapt lessons to each student’s individual learning pace and communication needs.
