Summary of Job Duties:

The Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design is seeking an energetic and skilled person to plan and execute signature events such as the Lecture Series, Alumni Design Awards, Honors Awards and Reception, and Commencement. The Special Events and Public Programs Manager will create a strategic plan, including a budget to advance relationships and assist with fundraising efforts in collaboration with the development director, communications director, student services team, and student organizations. This position will manage the continuing education (CEU) process and credentialing for the Lecture Series.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job function of this job, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher education

At least one year of experience managing multiple projects

At least one year of planning and executing events

Preferred Qualifications:
Proven success conceptualizing and implementing new, creative ideas in event design or production

At least three years of planning and executing events

Experience planning and executing hybrid events to include in-person and virtual guests

Experience with budget development and management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):
Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Ability to apply strong attention to detail in reviewing tasks and priorities

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Ability to apply excellent writing, critical and creative thinking skills to tasks and responsibilities

Ability to maintain Excel spreadsheets and other key documents

Ability to resolve problems and find solutions quickly

Ability to be punctual and arrive at work and events on time

Ability to remain professional at all times when interacting with donors, guests and co-workers

Ability to work with vendors, campus partners, and other internal constituents in a diplomatic and tactful manner

Ability to work nights and weekends as required by events
