Special Inspector

 The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is North America's largest transportation network, serving a population of 15.3 million people across a 5,000-square-mile travel area surrounding New York City, Long Island, southeastern New York State, and Connecticut. The MTA network comprises the nation’s largest bus fleet and more subway and commuter rail cars than all other U.S. transit systems combined. • Discovers and reports infractions of the Authority's rules and regulations.
• Observes actions of employees who handle Authority revenue or who dispose of obsolete Authority property; reports improper actions by such employees.
• Investigates and prepares reports relative to availability and fraud. 
• Makes confidential investigations of Authority employees, as directed.
• In connection with performance of duties, may issue summonses and make arrests.
• Knowledge of NYC Transit Policies, Rules/Regulations, MTA All-Agency Policies and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to interact with all levels of management and union personnel.
• Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
• Proficient computer skills including PeopleSoft/EIS and MS Office.
