Special Inspector ICC Certified

📝 Job Description:

An established engineering and consulting firm is seeking ICC-Certified Special Inspectors to join their team in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will have experience in the inspection of reinforced concrete, masonry, steel structures, and/or related construction systems, and must be familiar with structural blueprints and applicable building codes.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

• Perform field inspections and testing of reinforced concrete, masonry, post-tension systems, bolting, and/or structural steel
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with applicable ICC codes, project plans, and specifications
• Interpret structural drawings and construction documents with precision
• Maintain accurate and complete records, including daily reports, field notes, test data, and RFIs
• Communicate clearly with project managers, site supervisors, contractors, and client representatives
• Follow all company safety protocols and project-specific procedures

🎓 Required Qualifications:

• Current ICC Certification in Reinforced Concrete (Required)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction inspection
• Ability to read and interpret structural plans and codes
• Strong organizational and reporting skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

• ICC Certifications in:
• Masonry
• Post-Tension
• Bolting
• AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)

💼 Compensation:

$35 – $55/hour, based on experience and certifications
