Summary:
Construct and/or repair interior/exterior apartments and/or buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct any and all communications with our customers, residents, prospects, applicants, or coworkers in a manner consistent with the Company’s Customer Service Program and philosophy.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Exterior construction (framing, siding, window installation, and roofing).
- Interior work (door hanging, trim work, door jams, cabinet repair and installation, sheetrock repair, sub-floor replacement, and parquet floor installation and repair).
- Formica repair, sink and exhaust fan installation.
- Operating drills, skill-saws, table saws, planers, miter box, and jig saw unless prohibited or restricted by work practices.
- Ceramic tile work.
- Reviewing, understanding and complying with the Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Plans for Lead-Containing Coatings and for Asbestos Containing Materials, Lead and Asbestos Work Practice Manuals, Respiratory Protection Program and the Hazard Communication (HazCom) Program.
- Fulfilling training and medical requirements as dictated by this job description and the environmental training requirements noted in the following section, all in accordance with the plans, programs and manuals cited in #8 above.
- Adhering to work practices as outlined in the Asbestos and Lead Work Practice Manuals and the HazCom Program (MSDS recommendations) as applicable.
- Participating in and following the requirements of the Respiratory Protection Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
- Must have 3 years of experience in rough and trim carpentry work.
- Must have a valid driver’s license within state of residency and an acceptable driving record.
- Must provide own hand tools to include: skill saw, wood chisels, drill bits, hack saw, sawzall, level, pry bar, files, wrenches, putty knife, hand saw, screw driver, pliers/assorted, extension cord, socket set, hammer, nut driver, router, propane torch, hex key set, sheet rock tools, and cordless drill.
- In accordance with the Respiratory Protection Program, employees must obtain medical clearance to wear a respirator (provided by the Company), be clean-shaven, and consent to wear a respirator.
- Consent to work with regulated chemicals and/or materials and/or substances.
- Support the Company’s efforts to prevent and/or eradicate crime in accordance with the attached addendum.
