Responsibilities

Financing Specialist (Trade & Sustainable Commodity Finance) (SG Americas Securities, LLC, New York, NY)
Multiple positions available. Screen, originate and structure financing transactions for existing clients, and develop deal flow. Generate ideas for new transactions / clients / prospects. Perform analysis of proposals. Analyze, structure and close transactions independently against established criteria (business and credit quality) and recommend action if required. Manage due diligence process (including analyst support) for transactions and participate in negotiating terms of direct deals (in conjunction with deal leader and product specialists). Leadtransaction approval process, including seeking senior management and credit department support and lead deal team (coordinate with other deal participants). Responsible for legal documentation, process and closings, including legal negotiation with client. Maintain effective working relationships with other departments (including credit department) and product specialists to incorporate their expertise in client management. Expand on established business relationships with clients, industry peers, other bank’s corporate finance and syndication groups and applicable industry associations. Build relationship with C-suite officers of clients. Participate in industry seminars and conferences to generate future revenue. Monitor account compliance and financial performance of assigned portfolio accounts. Identify and report operating and compliance variances to head of the group and credit department, Propose and seek requisite approvals from senior management / credit department for any proposed amendments. Ensure data quality integrity for the assigned portfolio. Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and procedures (including any regulatory requirements). Advise on portfolio developments and new opportunities. Executes exit strategies in keeping with overall business objectives. Assist in development/training of junior staff (analysts and associates). Participate in talent recruiting. Requires up to 15% domestic & international travel. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report to SG Americas Securities, LLC, 245 Park Ave., New York, NY 10167. Salary: $141,523 – $225,000 per year.

Profile required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Master’s degree or U.S. equivalent in Business Management, International Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field, plus 3 years of professional experience as a Financial Analyst, Portfolio Manager, or other occupation/position/job title involving credit or investment transactions at a global financial institution.
Must also have experience in the following: 3 years of professional experience preparing and reviewing financial models, writing credit proposals, and managing terms sheets and credit documentation for existing and prospective transactions (including analysis of financial statements, business and credit analysis, risk and mitigant identification); 3 years of professional experience in commodity industry performing commodity collateral analysis including hedging and exchange-traded financial instruments (including options and futures on commodity contracts and over the counter (OTC) derivative financial instruments (including commodity forward purchase and sale contracts, storage and transportation capacity contracts, and swap and option contracts); 3 years professional experience writing comprehensive proposals on the applicability of commodity, currency and interest rate hedges; 3 years of professional experience performing financial modeling including projections and sensitivity scenarios using financial industry software applications including Excel, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ; 3 years of professional experience managing clients in a lead or supporting associate role including direct communication with clients in the due diligence phases (initially and ongoing); and 3 years of professional experience analyzing and monitoring structured credit transactions including financing derivative financial instruments as part of a collateral pool of assets.

COMPENSATION & SALARY RANGE:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience.
Salary: $141,523 – $225,000 per year.
