ABOUT THE POSITION:

To provide opportunities for a specific student growth, focusing on an assigned student who are deficient in learning skills, have some behavior issues and lack a positive self-esteem.

REPORTS TO/TERM:

School Leadership and Director of SPED

This is a 10-month / Full Time position.

Essential Key Functions:

• Instruct identified ESS student(s)
• Maintain accurate and complete records of the progress log, attendance log, exit form, and student data form for the assigned student(s).
• Attend ESS staff meetings and IEP meetings for the assigned student(s).
• Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the ESS teacher, Sped Coordinator, and/or Principal
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Provide intervention for all subject areas to the assigned student(s).
• Accompany the assigned student(s) to all scheduled classes.

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree (preferred); Associate's degree required
• Some SPED experience or experience dealing with behavioral kids
• Ability to use technology to support instruction; access and manipulate data; communicate and collaborate with ESS teachers and assigned student parents.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents, skill in oral and written communication.
• Organizational Skills
• The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being of the assigned student(s).
