Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care

  • Conduct evaluations and assessments to develop individualized therapy plans.
  • Implement evidence-based interventions targeting specific communication, language, and developmental goals.
  • Address speech sound disorders, fluency, voice, language, and pragmatic/social skills.
  • Collaborate with families to create home programs and ensure carryover of therapeutic activities.
  • Continuously monitor and document progress toward treatment goals.
  • Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) assessments and training when appropriate.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Participate in team meetings to discuss progress and adapt therapy plans as needed.
  • Collaborate with therapists, educators, and medical professionals to provide holistic care.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Complete all documentation accurately and within designated timeframes.
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations as well as Shine’s internal policies.

Professional Development

  • Engage in continuing education to stay current with best practices and emerging therapies.
  • Mentor or supervise therapy assistants, interns, or technicians as needed.

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • Education and Certification:
    • Speech-Language Pathologist: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; current licensure in Tennessee.
  • Skills:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Creativity in designing engaging therapy sessions for children.
    • In-depth knowledge of developmental milestones and evidence-based practices.
  • Experience:
    • Preferred: 1+ year of pediatric therapy experience (new graduates welcome to apply).

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Active and engaging therapy setting requiring physical movement and creativity.
  • Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs as needed for therapeutic interventions.
