SOS Personnel is seeking to hire a licensed and experienced Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) to support a federal government contract at Tuba City Boarding School (TCBS) in Arizona. This opportunity involves delivering comprehensive speech and language services to a diverse population of students, including those from the Navajo and Hopi tribes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Evaluation and Assessment
- Conduct comprehensive speech/language evaluations for referred students.
- Administer standardized and non-standardized assessments.
- Develop detailed evaluation reports with therapy and accommodation recommendations.
2. IEP Support
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with school staff, parents, and service providers.
- Monitor progress toward speech/language-related academic goals.
3. Therapy Services
- Deliver direct speech-language therapy to students individually or in groups.
- Address articulation, fluency, voice, language processing, and social communication needs.
- Use evidence-based interventions tailored to student needs.
4. Consultation and Training
- Collaborate with educators, administrators, and parents.
- Provide training and strategies to support students with communication challenges.
5. Documentation and Compliance
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Submit quarterly progress reports and ensure compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and confidentiality laws.
- Sign in/out daily and provide service logs and attendance weekly.
Qualifications:
For Speech-Language Pathologists:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from ASHA
- Arizona SLP license
- Prior experience with K–12 students and IEPs preferred
- Familiarity with IDEA and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
For Speech-Language Assistants:
- State-approved certification or license
- Valid Arizona K–12 Speech-Language Impaired certification (if applicable)
- Experience working in school settings preferred
General Requirements:
- Must reside within commuting distance of Tuba City, AZ
- Experience working with Native American student populations is a plus
- Must pass a federal background check
Schedule:
- Services are provided on-site Monday–Friday during regular school hours (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM)
- At least four Saturdays per year may be required for compensatory services
- Virtual meetings may occur in the event of school closure or inclement weather
Compensation:
- Competitive hourly/contract rates based on experience and credentials
- Travel, lodging, and related expenses reimbursable (with itemized receipts)
