Neuroscience Group is currently looking for a Full Time Speech-Language Pathologist to join our therapies team. This individual will work at both our Neenah and Appleton clinics. Schedule is Monday through Friday 8 hours per day. The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is a key member of the interdisciplinary care team at Neuroscience Group, responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, swallowing, and fluency disorders. The SLP works collaboratively with physicians, neurologists, occupational and physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support the communication and swallowing needs of patients across the lifespan, with a focus on neurologically-based conditions.
For over thirty years, Neuroscience Group has provided excellent neurologic care for the Fox Valley and Northeast Wisconsin. Ours is the only medical facility in the area that combines neurosurgery, neurology, orthopedic spine surgery, interventional and non-interventional pain management, and physical therapy. Our practice has grown to over 50 providers and serves patients in nine outlying clinics scattered throughout the region. Requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, cognition, and swallowing functions using standardized and non-standardized assessment tools.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, patient goals, and best practices.
Provide direct therapy services to patients with a variety of neurological disorders, including but not limited to stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, ALS, dementia, and multiple sclerosis.
Conduct dysphagia assessments, including bedside evaluations and referrals for VFSS as warranted.
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
Document evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, discharge summaries, and communication with medical providers in accordance with professional standards and organizational policies.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on communication strategies, safe swallowing techniques, and home exercise programs.
Participate in care team meetings, case reviews, and quality improvement initiatives.
Maintain compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and standards, including HIPAA, ASHA Code of Ethics, and state licensing requirements.
Stay current on evidence-based practices through continuing education and professional development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Licensed (or eligible for licensure) as a Speech-Language Pathologist in the State of Wisconsin.
Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience preferred, ideally in a medical or neurological setting.
Expertise in the evaluation and treatment of neurologically-based communication and swallowing disorders.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and clinical team members.
Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
Proficient in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and continuous learning.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to assist patients with mobility as needed.
Manual dexterity for operating assessment tools and technology.
Occasional lifting of equipment or patients (up to 30 lbs).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Outpatient clinic setting within a multidisciplinary neuroscience team.
May involve occasional travel between clinic locations.
Exposure to typical healthcare setting conditions and equipment.
