Job Description

The Speech Language Pathologist will work under the direction of the Therapy Program Manager to provide services focused on treating speech, cognitive, and swallowing disorders.

Role and Responsibilities

·       Assess and evaluate speech, language, communication, and swallowing deficits.

·       Develop and implement effective treatment programs.

·       Recommend treatment options based on testing.

·       Establish goals for treatment.

·       Create accurate documentation.

·       Complete treatment sessions as prescribed by the residents Physician

·       Maintain communication with facility staff.

·       Work with dietician to monitor those with modified diets.

·       Maintain utilization management as set by the Therapy Program Manager

Qualifications and Education Requirements

·       Degree in Speech and Language Pathology

·       Current state Speech and Language Pathology license

Preferred Skills

·       Strong interdisciplinary communication skills

·       Familiarity with a variety of speech and cognitive disorders

·       Basic knowledge of developmental disabilities and traumatic brain injuries
