Job Summary:

We’re seeking an enthusiastic Speech-Language Pathologist with expertise in adult Voice Therapy to join

our Los Angeles Center for Ear, Nose, Throat, and Allergy (LACENTA) team. At LACENTA, our Speech-

Language Pathology team plays a vital role in diagnosing, assessing, planning, and treating individuals

with voice disorders. With the growing number of voice disorder patients, including those seeking

gender-affirming vocal care, we aim to expand our exceptional SLP team.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive voice evaluations, including case history, perceptual assessments, acoustic/aerodynamic measures, and videostroboscopy.
• Perform diagnostic assessments and develop personalized treatment plans for clients seeking gender-affirming voice care.
• Evaluate and treat swallowing disorders (dysphagia) as needed, using instrumental and non instrumental diagnostic tools.
• Collaborate closely with other team members on SLP treatment plans and with LACENTA surgical providers (laryngologists, otolaryngologists, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants).
• Offer guidance to clients and surgical providers based on test results and implement appropriate treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with clinic policies and professional standards.
• Address clients’/ patients’ needs and evaluate the necessity for further treatment or intervention.
• Communicate findings and treatment plans effectively to clients’/ patients’ and/or their loved ones.
• Contribute to program development for gender-affirming voice care, including resource creation, education, and training.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications and Requirements:

• A master’s degree in communicative disorders or speech pathology from an accredited United States college or university.
• Proficiency in the fundamental principles and practices of speech and language pathology.
• Current and unrestricted license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the state of California.
• Ability to utilize evidence-based methods, techniques, and practices for diagnosing and treating voice disorders.
• Proficiency in conducting and interpreting videostroboscopic and acoustic voice assessments on both adults and children, or a willingness to learn.
• Experience and demonstrated expertise in gender-affirming voice care.
• Strong interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, enabling collaborative problem-solving and decision-making.
• At least one year of prior professional experience as a clinical SLP Voice Therapist. No CFs will be accepted for this role.

Physical Demands:
 The job requires sitting for extended periods. Repetitive hand and finger motions are necessary daily. Periodic lifting, pushing, and pulling of up to 10 pounds may be required. Travel to clinic locations or sites within the greater Los Angeles region is necessary. Employees must be able to sit and stand for extended periods and may be required to lift office equipment. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for individuals with disabilities.
