McLeod Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Pediatric Rehabilitation team. In this role, you will evaluate and treat pediatric patients with a variety of communication, cognitive, feeding, and swallowing disorders while collaborating with families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate pediatric patients using clinical observations, patient history, and diagnostic findings.
Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's developmental needs, learning style, and therapeutic goals.
Provide treatment for expressive and receptive language disorders, cognitive-communication disorders, reading disorders, and dysphagia.
Educate and communicate with patients and families regarding treatment goals and progress.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including evaluations, re-evaluations, daily treatment notes, charges, and discharge summaries.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding patient care, treatment recommendations, and progress.
Demonstrate a commitment to exceptional patient care through compassionate, respectful, and family-centered service.
Participate in professional development activities and maintain required certifications and continuing education.
Support departmental initiatives through mentoring, supervision of provisionally licensed clinicians, student education, competency training, and program development as assigned.
Adhere to ASHA standards, South Carolina licensing requirements, departmental policies, and patient confidentiality regulations.
Promote a safe environment by utilizing appropriate health and safety practices.
Work Experience
New graduates and experienced clinicians are encouraged to apply.
Zero to one year of related experience required.
Licensure & Certifications
Active South Carolina Speech-Language Pathology License (SC LLR)
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
ASHA Certification required
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
