Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, licensed Speech Therapist to join our team! As a Speech Therapist, you will be meeting with new patients, assessing their speech needs, and creating personalized treatment plans to help them reach their goals. You will also be documenting all patient care, observing and participating in treatment, and adjusting goals and milestones as needed for the best possible outcomes. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of speech pathology, is able to provide compassionate care to every patient, and has excellent organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Meet with patients for the first time in their speech journey, answering introductory questions
- Make evaluations and create treatment plans customized for that patient, working with them to set short and long term goals for their speech and wellness
- Assist in the implementation of the treatment plan, adjusting as needed to ensure successful outcomes
- Maintaining excellent records of patient needs, care, and outcome
- Work closely with the family of the patients and the patients itself to ensure they have the knowledge and tools they need for success
Qualifications
- Active state license for practicing speech therapy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Strong charting and documentation skills
- Familiarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite
Blossom Pediatrics provides early intervention services for infants and toddlers under the age of three. Our services include child development, speech therapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy in following areas:
San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley and Antelope Valley.
We are committed to providing a comprehensive early intervention program with staff qualified to implement Blossom Pediatrics whole child approach. Skills are taught through a variety of interventions including: incidental teaching, floor play, child guided teaching, trial teaching and peer integration. Intervention is individualized according to the child’s way of learning and emphasized on a curriculum based on the child’s strengths and weaknesses.
Our goal is to provide intervention for children to learn in their natural environment. Every child makes progress through different stages of their development. Therefore, in order to accomplish their goals we will focus on promoting child-parent interactions and grow strong professional relationships between parents and the therapist. Intervention activities will promote the following: physical development, cognitive development, language and speech development, psychosocial development, self-help and feeding development.
