Come and join our dynamic team at Peak! We are seeking a part-time/full-time Speech Language Pathologist-Assistant (SLP-A)to join our interdisciplinary clinic in Norman, OK. Come join our team as we provide a comprehensive and collaborative approach in helping children with autism and other disabilities. Our clinic includes psychology, ABA, OT, and Speech services. At Peak, we strive to help children and families reach their highest potential.
The Position: Under the supervision of a board certified Speech-Language Pathologist, the SLP-A will:
Provide direct speech and language therapy to children and follows documented treatment plans or protocols
Establish and maintain appropriate data collection and progress reports
Program augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices
Develop low-tech AAC materials for students
Prepare therapy materials and/or equipment for use in therapy activities
Adapt or modify materials and equipment as determined by the needs of the patient
Communicate effectively in both oral and written formats
Collaborate with team members of other disciplines as well as administrative staff
Follow company policies and procedures
Maintain Compliance with Federal, State, and Local Regulations regarding HIPAA, state licensing statutes, and rules for scope of practice
Administer or score screenings for clinical interpretation by the SLP
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk, and hear
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
May work in a variety of setting including clinic, home, or tele health services
Qualifications:
Completion of an SLPA program from a regionally accredited institution (e.g. An Associate degree, a technical training program, a certificate program) or a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
Completion of a Supervised Clinical Experiences that consists of a minimum of one hundred (100) hours under the direct supervision of an ASDH certified SLP. Be Licensed as an SLP-A in the State of Oklahoma
Early Intervention or Pediatric Experience
Strong Clinical and Interpersonal Skills
Experience with pediatric populations is preferred
Must have great problem-solving skills
Passionate about helping children and their families
