Job Description Summary


Unique Opportunity for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to provide Augmentative & Alternative Communication (AAC), Assistive Technology (AT), and Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) therapy and training services to individuals with a variety of disabilities.  Candidates must be willing and able to drive to different locations throughout Central Maryland and should be flexible with their schedule, caseload, and ability to work easily with others.

Our agency is often the only place for families to turn for help with severely medically challenged loved ones. 


Duties and Responsibilities Include:



  • Provide AT Setup and Training in the areas of physical access, cognitive, and low vision.

  • Provide AAC training services for individuals with disabilities based on plans developed by a licensed speech-language pathologist.

  • Assist with troubleshooting and problem solving relative to AAC and AT tools.

  • Assist with the preparation and organization of training materials and resources.

  • Prepare written reports as required.

  • Complete Case Management, including scheduling, billing, and service provision.

  • Maintain accurate training logs with relevant data to document client progress.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development related to the field.

  • Day travel to the following counties: Montgomery, Frederick, Washington, Carroll, Garrett, and Baltimore with travel reimbursement provided.



    Qualifications          



    • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from ASHA accredited university

    • Must have completed all clinical requirements for Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, as defined by the Maryland Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

    • Have active state-level licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

    • General knowledge of AAC and AT devices

    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.


           


    Skills



    • Skill in oral and written communication.

    • Experience with AAC/AT service provision preferred


    The following are required to be considered for employment:



    • COVID-19 Vaccine

    • Valid Driver's License

    • Motor Vehicle Record with 2 or less points

    • Ability to lift 25 Lbs. unassisted


     


    Physical Requirements


    Audio-visual acuity to be able to read small print and perform perceptual diagnostic assessments. Ability to reach, stoop, crouch, push, walk, stand, and lift 25 pounds.
