The Sport Dietitian will assist in the development, refinement, and execution of the National Team nutrition services program as well as creating education for all USA Swimming members.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborate with Director, Medical Services, Chief Medical Officer, and Team Physician to proactively support each National Team Athlete.
Provide nutrition support to National Team athletes through individual appointments (in-person or via telehealth) as needed.
Collaborate with Director, Medical Services to create sports nutrition educational resources and wellness initiatives for the National Team athletes.
Coordinate and provide sports nutrition programming and education during the annual National Team on-boarding event.
Manage and supervise all aspects of USA Swimming’s National Team nutrition support at domestic and international camps and competitions.
Assist with determining appropriate contractors, as needed, to provide nutrition support to the National Team athletes.
Assist the Director, Medical Services, in providing appropriate referrals to medical professionals as needed.
Communicate with external medical providers, as needed, for continuity of care.
Maintain accurate documentation for all athlete care in the Electronic Medical Records system
Other Duties:
Develop strong working relationships with coaches and athletes.
Communicate effectively with colleagues to provide insightful feedback and ideas that can be implemented to improve the support of athletes.
Maintain and develop relationships with all divisions in USA Swimming, as well as the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee.
Develop nutrition education programming for distribution to USA Swimming clubs.
Travel to agreed upon domestic and international competitions.
Additional duties, as assigned.

Education & Experience:
Master’s degree in nutrition services, or equivalent.
Minimum five years’ experience as sport dietitian.
Experience working one-on-one with elite athletes and teams.
Knowledge of or experience working in National Governing Bodies’ performance groups.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to travel, both domestically and internationally, up to 30% of the year.
Must be able to lift to ten pounds.
This position is open to remote, hybrid, or in-office working arrangements. The USA Swimming headquarters office is in Colorado Springs, CO; occasional travel to CO is required for remote workers.
Salary & Benefits:
Salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000 / year based on experience and qualifications.
Bonus Eligibility: Based on company performance, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus target of 7.50%.
