The West Fargo Park District is looking for enthusiastic and energetic individuals to join our team as Sports Sampler Coaches. If you love working with children and have a passion for a variety of sports, this is a great opportunity to help young athletes develop basic skills in a fun, positive, and supportive environment.

Position Overview

As a Sports Sampler Coach, you will lead youth ages 3-6 in a variety of indoor sports and activities. The focus will be on introducing children to the basics of different sports while ensuring they have fun and stay engaged. Activities include basketball, baseball, soccer, football, tag, and other games, all designed to promote physical activity and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead children ages 3-6 in basic sports drills and activities, emphasizing fun and skill development.

• Organize and facilitate a variety of indoor sports activities, including basketball, soccer, and other fun games.

• Ensure a safe and supportive environment where children feel encouraged and motivated to participate.

• Foster a positive and energetic atmosphere that promotes teamwork, coordination, and social skills.

• Maintain clear communication with parents and guardians about participant progress.

• Set up and clean up after each session, ensuring all equipment is properly stored and maintained.

• Ensure the safety of all participants during activities.

Work Schedule

This position requires part-time availability, with activities scheduled during daytime hours, depending on the program schedule.

Program Dates

May 20^th-June 5^th (Tues & Thurs only): 4:30pm-7:00pm

June 17^th-July 3^rd (Tues & Thurs only): 4:30pm-7:00pm

July 22^nd-August 7^th (Tues & Thurs only):12:30pm-3:00pm

Qualifications

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 16 years old.

• Skills: Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to engage and motivate children.

• Experience: Previous experience working with youth is preferred.

• Knowledge: A basic understanding of various sports is helpful.

Ideal Candidate
