Spotter Construction Jobsite - Start Immediately

Gillmann Services, Inc. is Immediately Hiring Spotters & General Laborers for work in Sterling Heights, MI and surrounding areas. We pay competitive wages and benefits kick in right away. This is a contract position. Start date: 4/2/2024

Role and Responsibilities:

• The Flagger/Spotter will be responsible for establishing and maintaining control of safety and work zones in accordance with company safety guidelines.
• The employee is required to stand for long periods of time, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Load and unload work zone equipment, sometimes weighing up to 40 pounds, to/from the company vehicle.
• Position temporary work zones utilizing warning signs, traffic cones, barrels, etc. according to regulatory requirements.
• Stand and safely manage traffic control through active work zones while grasping a stop/slow paddle and utilizing radio communication.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Keep company vehicle clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns or vehicle problems.
• Comply with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements.
• Perform any other general duties as specified.
• You will be performing General Laborer duties when no flagging or spotting is necessary.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• 1 Year of construction jobsite experience.
• Must obtain a negative drug test result prior to hire and maintain throughout term of employment.
• Must meet company's employment standards with regards to background checks.
• Must have the ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Working rotating shifts which may include weekends.
• Work environments will vary making it necessary to tolerate weather conditions, such as rain and extreme temperatures.
• Employees will be exposed to live traffic, extreme heat, dust, dirt, varying temperatures, loud noises, etc.

OSHA 10 or 30 is a plus. First aid/CPR training preferred.

Possess own steel toed boots; pass pre-employment drug screen; E-Verify
State Identification or Drivers’ License and Social Security Card will be required for I9 verification and E-Verify.
