SQL Developer (SSRS Focus)

Job Summary
We are seeking a versatile and skilled ERP & Application Developer to manage, maintain, and optimize our critical business systems. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our database infrastructure and day-to-day operations. Your primary responsibilities will include administering and optimizing Microsoft SQL Server databases, updating and supporting our proprietary legacy in-house applications built on Visual Basic (VB.NET / VB6), and maintaining our Epicor ERP platform to ensure seamless workflow automation, data integrity, and custom reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• ERP Management & Customization:  Serve as the technical point person for Epicor ERP (including Kinetic/E10). Build and modify Business Activity Queries (BAQs), Business Process Management (BPM) directives, custom dashboards, and forms to match our operational workflows.
• Legacy Application Support:      Maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade proprietary, in-house business applications written in Visual Basic. Ensure continuity and safe integrations between these legacy apps, modern systems, and the ERP      database.
• SQL Server Database Administration:      Design, write, and optimize complex T-SQL queries, stored procedures,      views, and functions. Monitor database health, manage indexing, tune query performance, and ensure secure, reliable data flows.
• Reporting & Analytics:      Develop and modify internal business reports using SQL Server Reporting      Services (SSRS) or Crystal Reports to assist departments with data-driven decision-making.
• System Integration & Support:      Build data bridges or troubleshoot API/file-based integrations between in-house applications and Epicor modules. Provide technical tier 2/3      support to internal staff dealing with software bugs or data discrepancies.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• Experience: 3+ years of experience working closely with Epicor ERP environments (Epicor 10 or Kinetic preferred).
• Programming: Proficient in Visual      Basic (VB.NET and/or legacy VB6 codebases) with a solid understanding of object-oriented programming. 
• Database Management: Strong command of      Microsoft SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS). Proven experience with relational database design.
• Problem Solving: A sharp analytical mindset with the ability to dig into old code, trace data lineage, and identify root causes behind system bugs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior background working in a manufacturing, distribution, or supply-chain environment where Epicor MRP modules are deployed.
• Experience handling database migrations or Epicor version upgrades.
