Sr. Accountant

Description

Weldall Manufacturing is seeking a Sr. Accountant who will be responsible for general accounting functions, analyzing budgets, reconciliation and maintaining financial information, assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

(Including the following, however, additional duties may apply as required)

· Complete monthly close procedures

· Prepare accurate, timely financial statements with cash flow analysis in accordance with our established schedule.

· Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and general ledger maintenance.

· Monitor daily and future cash availability, through account reconciliations and publish weekly cash activity report

· Review and maintain depreciation and fixed assets schedules

· Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and variances

· Review inter-company transactions and maintain balances

· Generate invoices on a weekly basis 

· Prepare Sales and Use and Property tax returns

· Generate commission reports

· Assist with the preparation of annual audit work papers and financial analysis

· Comply with legal regulations, including tax and audit rules

· Assist with the Workman’s Comp and 401k audits

· Prepares data and annual application related to general business insurances

· Assure compliance with GAAP principals

· Assist in the preparation of corporate tax returns

· Cross functional duties including backup for payroll

· Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures

· Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls

Requirements

· Demonstrated knowledge of basic economics, budgeting, accounting principles and practices.

· Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process

· Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills

· Ability to research issues and problem solve

· Self-motivator

· Proficient communicator

Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required 

· CPA preferred 

· At least three years of experience in general accounting

· Advanced knowledge of Excel (pivot tables, Vlook up's, etc.)

· Experience working with Epicor a plus

· Experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
