Job Description - Sr Accountant








Essential Functions (Other Duties as Assigned)




  • Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger.

  • Reconcile bank, credit card and other billing statements.

  • Maintain accurate and complete accounting records and files.

  • Assist with the month-end close (adjusting journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, etc.)

  • Perform monthly account analysis and reconciliations.

  • Research and analyze expense variances for company management.

  • Assist with the annual audit process including preparing the draft of the financial statements and related notes.

  • Assist with establishing, modifying, documenting, and coordinating the implementation of accounting control procedures/processes.

  • Assist other departments and collaborate with cross-functional teams.


 









Education and Experience




  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, required or equivalent experience in lieu of education.

  • 4+ years of professional accounting experience including substantial exposure to monthly closing processes required.


 









Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities




  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple projects effectively and meet deadlines.

  • An analytical mindset with strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills



  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills; Expert spreadsheet abilities

  • Knowledge of accounting systems; experience with Sage Intacct a plus.

  • Ability to work with confidential information with maturity and integrity.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and meet tight deadlines.


 









Physical Requirements:




  • Extended periods of sitting: frequently required to stand and walk.   

  • The work environment is typical of an office setting. The noise level is usually quiet.

  • Travel requirements less than 10%
