Sr. Accountant (AP Accountant) - Excellent Benefits Package

Sparks Group has teamed with a government contractor and is searching for a qualified and motivated Senior AP Accountant. The Accountant will be responsible for preparation and consolidation of Financial Statements, process improvements and Payables. . • Prepare and analyze Accounts Payables, journal entries, income statement, balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other financial reports on a regular basis
• Document, and explain data for internal controls in support of audit team to include preparation of IFRS interpretations
• Analyze statements and review/approve any proposed adjustments, prepare audit schedules and communicate with auditors
• Perform checks to ensure data integrity and to spot/correct inconsistencies
• Apply knowledge of laws and regulations and ensure compliance to regulations, policies and procedures
• Provide input and supports the development of oral, written, and visual presentation materials for management
• Support multiple projects, identify opportunities, and carry out ad hoc tasks

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred
• 4+ years of experience in full cycle AP accounting and/or reporting
• Experience in preparing monthly financial and closing statements as well as performing detailed account reconciliations
• Strong knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials and payables; US GAAP skills, preferably GASB standards
• Knowledge of automated data processing systems and financial systems reporting tools
• Possess strong technical skills, intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and Power Point
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to be able to work collaboratively with teams
• Detail and process oriented; ability to work on multiple deadline driven projects
• Strong analytical skills to interpret complex reports, needs and documentations
