ROLE OVERVIEW:
This role plays a key part in designing and delivering robust, automated, and compliant business process solutions that integrate with enterprise data platforms and cloud\-based services. The ideal candidate brings deep Appian expertise, strong workflow design skills, and experience building scalable enterprise solutions within regulated environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, develop, and maintain Appian\-based BPM applications supporting mortgage and financial operations
- Translate business and functional requirements into scalable Appian workflows, rules, and user interfaces
- Build, optimize, and maintain SAIL interfaces, process models, expression rules, and integrations
- Develop secure and reliable integrations between Appian and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and technical teams to ensure solutions meet functional, performance, and compliance requirements
- Support data modeling and database integration efforts to ensure efficient and accurate data handling
- Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities to ensure high\-quality deliverables
- Contribute to DevOps and CI/CD processes, promoting automation, version control, and best practices
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, performance bottlenecks, and integration challenges
- Provide technical guidance and support for ongoing enhancements and production support.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years of hands\-on experience in Appian application development
- Deep expertise with the Appian platform, including SAIL interfaces, process models, record types, expression rules, and integrations
- Strong understanding of business process modeling (BPM) and workflow automation principles
- Proven experience designing and implementing end\-to\-end enterprise workflow solutions
- Solid knowledge of SQL and data modeling, including relational schema design and enterprise database integration
- Hands\-on experience with API integrations, including REST and SOAP services, and secure integration patterns with external systems
- Working knowledge of Java to support custom integrations, plug\-ins, or backend services as needed
- Experience working within AWS cloud environments (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, etc.)
- Experience in mortgage or financial services domains; familiarity with client programs or platforms is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and version control systems such as Git
- Strong analytical, problem\-solving, and communication skills.
