Job Description - Sr Business Analyst

About Us

The Freeman Company is a global leader in events, on a mission to redefine live for a new era. With a data-driven approach and the industry’s largest network of experts, The Freeman Company's insights shape exhibitions, exhibits, and events that drive audiences to action. The integrated full-service solutions leverage a 99-year legacy in event management as well as new technologies to deliver moments that matter.

Summary

Freeman is seeking a Business Analyst to own performance reporting that keeps our Exhibit & Event Services product lines, operational metrics, and labor costs visible to leadership. This role is less about traditional financial reporting and more about performance analytics across the Enterprise’s product portfolio — turning data into clear, decision-ready reporting on a dependable weekly and monthly cadence. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable building a Power BI model as writing the narrative that explains it and will partner with commercial and operational leaders who rely on these numbers to understand where the business stands.

This position will support our Field Finance team.  It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week. The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas, TX; however, we are also open to candidates based out of:

  • Las Vegas, NV

  • Nashville, TN

  • Orlando, FL

  • San Antonio, TX

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own the reporting portfolio. Take full ownership of a published Power BI App and its underlying models — a suite of dashboards and reports covering product-line performance, experiential reporting, and operational volume metrics — and keep it accurate and current on a weekly and monthly cadence.

  • Analyze and communicate performance. Turn revenue, volume, pricing, and cost trends into clear, concise written commentary — paired with polished, presentation-ready dashboards — that leadership relies on to understand where the business stands.

  • Maintain the underlying data. Build and administer the semantic models, dataflows, and Excel-based feeds behind the reporting — sourcing and reconciling data across Power BI, SAP, Workfront, Salesforce, SharePoint, and Vault/DAP — and manage publishing, refreshes, and data integrity.

  • Support commercial insight. Produce a monthly recap of the Sales Analysis report, explaining the drivers behind wins and losses across the business.

  • Improve and modernize. Streamline manual, multi-source reporting into more automated, repeatable, and well-documented workflows.

  • Own the NSF/Vault-to-DAP pipeline. Lead the ongoing development and data-quality process for Vault-sourced NSF, freight, and revenue reporting — partnering with IT on the data feed into Freeman's DAP platform and running the weekly cadence that keeps this reporting reliable as it matures.

Education & Experience

Required

  • 5+ years in business/data analysis, business-intelligence reporting, or a comparable analytics role

  • Hands-on Power BI: building and maintaining semantic/composite models, authoring DAX and Power Query, and publishing/administering content in the Power BI service

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel: pivot tables, complex linked and weighted workbooks, cube/OLAP formulas, and multi-source data collation

  • Proven ability to run recurring weekly and monthly reporting independently and meet deadlines

  • Strong written communication — able to turn quantitative analysis into concise, executive-ready narrative

  • High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and version control

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, Information Systems, or a related field

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience extracting and reconciling data from SAP and Workfront

  • Familiarity with Salesforce and SharePoint as reporting data sources

  • Power BI App / workspace administration, dataflows, and refresh management

  • An eye for clean, professional dashboard and report design — this reporting goes straight to senior leadership

  • Background in events, exhibitions, logistics, or another project-based cost-and-revenue business

  • Curiosity to adopt AI-assisted analytics tools (Claude, Copilot, or similar) to speed up reporting
