Job Description - Sr. Buyer

Eaton\u2019s AER FED Fluid Electrical Distribution division is currently seeking a Sr. Buyer. This position will be located at our Torrance, CA facility. \n\n \nThe Sr. Buyer will be responsible for purchasing indirect material and strategically assigned items at the best total value, considering cost, quality, and delivery. The Buyer role includes coordinating with strategic sourcing and managing supplier fulfillment from purchase order issuance to part receipt into stock and/or service rendered. In this role, you will exhibit expertise in supplier selection for new and existing part numbers, negotiation, order placement, supplier follow-up, measurement and control of supplier performance, value analysis, and evaluation of new materials and processes.\n\n\u200b\n\nThe expected annual salary range for this role is $99000 - $145000 a year. \n\nPlease note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. \n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\n\u2022 Issue purchase orders in MRP system to suppliers. Quote, analyze quantity to order for assigned purchased parts for the site. \n\u2022 Serve as Indirect/MRO purchasing lead and places orders through Ariba, Versatex, etc. as required to support production and facility needs. \n\u2022 Control inventory impact by analyzing MOQ vs. consumption. \n\u2022 Comply with Supply Chain and Purchasing procedures and compliance requirements. \n\u2022 Provide leadership and guidance to purchasing team members. \n\u2022 Run, analyze and report causes with action plan for price variances (PPV) and Indirect Material Cost Out. \n\u2022 Coordinate and co-lead supplier delivery performance. \n\u2022 Analyze mid and long term stockouts, lead the team to provide resolution to protect sales. \n\u2022 MESH Champion. \n\u2022 Review and update local purchasing procedures as required. ISO representative for the site. \n\u2022 Maintain MRP health by aligning PO dates and managing PO quantities. \n\u2022 Run and respond to daily MRP report (Place PO, Reschedule In, Reschedule Out, Cancels, Late PO\u2019s). \n\u2022 Resolve PO/Invoice discrepancies in a timely manner. \n\u2022 Process supplier-related RMA\u2019s. \n\u2022 Ensure fixed vendors align with divisional approved supply base. \n\u2022 Maintain SAP data Integrity. Update PIR, lead time, MOQ (etc.) for new and existing part numbers to reflect market conditions and as required by Enovia change request actions Track progression of purchase orders, investigate factors that affect schedules, and modify plans as necessary. \n\u2022 Expedite critical orders throughout the supply chain, works with divisional supply chain team for escalations. \n\u2022 Inform management of potential supply problems and assist in the implementation of both short and long term solutions. \n\u2022 Analyze forecasted demand (or generates statistical forecast) and work on long-term agreements with suppliers. \n\u2022 Collaborate cross functionally and attend daily production meeting to ensure site meets and exceeds OTD and sales goals. \n\u2022 Complete other duties as assigned.\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u0027s degree from an accredited institution. \n\u2022 Minimum of three (3) years experience in supply chain purchasing/procurement. \n\u2022 Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship, now or in the future. \n\u2022 This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158. \n\u2022 No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Torrance, CA will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 SAP advanced user. \n\u2022 APICS/ CPIM certification. \n\u2022 Experience negotiating with suppliers to obtain price reduction and improve delivery dates. \n\u2022 Experience supporting the aerospace industry and/or experience in an Engineer to Order or high mix/low volume environment. \n\n \nSkills: \n\u2022 Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding purchasing, logistics, incoming product inspection and inventory control. \n\u2022 Knowledge of BOM management, items master setup. \n\u2022 Possess excellent problem-solving skills in complex and demanding situations that undergo continuous priority changes. \n\u2022 Demonstrated use of negotiated techniques and tactics. \n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to work well with others. \n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to support a cross-functional team. \n\u2022 Proven experience selecting and choosing suppliers for new and existing part numbers. \n\u2022 Proficient in use and interpretation of MRP systems. \n\u2022 Proven experience implementing suppliers\u2019 agreements: stocking/consignment projects, lead-time reduction, LTA\u2019s. \n\u2022 Worked in Aerospace and Military Plants and/or experience with Engineer to order production or low volume high mix production. \n\u2022 Advanced excel capabilities. \n\u2022 Experience presenting to senior level managers. \n\u2022 May be required to work beyond normal office hours, occasionally to meet schedule commitments. \n\n#LI-CB3\n\nAll positions may require participation in video and in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
