The core hours are Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. Overtime may exceed these hours and be mandatory at times. The technician will also provide support to the Control Techs and Production as required. \n \nIn this function, you will: \n\u2022 Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping \u0026 company policies and procedures. \n\u2022 Support Engineering projects to install, maintain, test, and troubleshoot complex automated equipment \n\u2022 Diagnose and resolve complex electrical/controls problems including non-routine issues \n\u2022 Use Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) including basic and ladder logic to read/write basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints to diagnosis problems \n\u2022 The position will work independently to meet project requirements with limited supervision \n\u2022 Help educate lower-level technicians through on the job training as needed \n\u2022 Fabricate and Install control and power panels \n\u2022 Reviews diagrams, drawings and specifications for design, construction and/or alteration of instrument and control systems \n\u2022 Evaluates and recommends improvements for current equipment. \n\u2022 Troubleshoot and repair of low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below) \n\u2022 Oversee and enforce lockout/tagout (LOTO) protocols to guarantee the safe deactivation and isolation of equipment, ensuring energy control procedures are correctly applied to prevent inadvertent machine startup or hazardous energy discharge during repair or maintenance, in line with OSHA regulations and organizational safety guidelines. \n\u2022 Safely operates overhead cranes and hoisting equipment to move materials, components, and finished products within the manufacturing facility. \n\u2022 Actively participates in problem-solving processes, contributing to efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement within the organization. \n\u2022 Adhere to safety protocols, ensures efficient material handling, housekeeping practices (5S+), and company policies and procedures. \" \n\n## Qualifications:\n\nBasic Qualifications: \n\u2022 High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) from an accredited institution. \n\n\u2022 Two-Year Associate or Bachelor\u0027s degree in related field of study or 10 years of electrical and controls system fabrication, assembly, and installation or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities required.\n\n\u2022 No relocation benefits are being offered for this position. Only candidates that reside within a 50-mile of the Nacogdoches, TX facility will be considered. This means that Eaton will not support ant CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT, plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n\n \n \nTechnical Knowledge \nRequired: \n\u2022 Advanced knowledge of PLC systems (PLC5, PLC 500, RSLogix 5000/Studio) \n\u2022 Experience with VFDs and DC motor controllers \n\u2022 Familiarity with NFPA 70 and electrical installation standards \n\u2022 Strong understanding of electrical safety, including Arc Flash PPE and hazardous locations \n\u2022 Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and P\u0026ID diagrams \n\u2022 Skilled in troubleshooting and repairing low to high voltage systems \n\u2022 Proficient with diagnostic tools (voltmeters, ohmmeters, ammeters, phase rotation meters, meggers, oscilloscopes, watt meters, loop calibrators, IR thermometers) \n \nPreferred: \n\u2022 SAP or similar maintenance/work management software experience preferred. \n\u2022 Robotics education and/or experience preferred. \n \n\n\n## Position Success Criteria: \n\n\u2022 Demonstrates effective communication, attention to detail, adaptability, and a positive work ethic, comprehends written and verbal work instructions accurately, and upholds Eaton\u2019s Values and philosophy.\n\n\u2022 Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, grabbing, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, and using both hands to lift and lower materials, with or without accommodations.\n\n\u2022 Adhere to proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when on the shop floor (safety glasses, safety shoes, ear plugs, FR shirts, and otthers based on the department you are in). \n\u2022 Work efficiently in hot environments and tolerate loud noises.\n\n#IND123\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
