Job Description - Sr. Custom Order Design (Sumter, SC)
1. Electrical Design Develop and modify electrical wiring diagrams. Create and manage point to point wiring diagrams with high accuracy. Generate wire lists from point to point diagrams and support automation of wire list creation. Utilize AutoCAD to produce electrical drawings, layouts, and documentation. Develop and maintain AutoCAD macros/LISP routines to streamline drafting and design workflows. 2. Mechanical / Electromechanical Design Use Autodesk Inventor to create: o Basic 3D components (.ipt files) and Assemblies (.iam files) o Panel layouts and design models Create point to point wiring based on developed mechanical panel layouts. 3. Process Improvement Apply process improvement methodologies (Lean, Kaizen, PDCA, etc.) to optimize engineering workflows. Identify opportunities for automation, standardization, and efficiency improvements within electrical and mechanical design processes. Associate's degree or higher in Engineering OR High School Diploma or GED AND 2 years experience in switchboard OR Bachelors degree in Engineering from an accredited institution OR currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Engineering from an accredited institution with an expected graduation date by June 2026. Experience in panel-building environments or industrial equipment design. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. Hands on experience creating point to point diagrams and wiring documentation. Exposure to automation of engineering workflows (scripts, tools, macros). Knowledge of electrical standards (UL, IEC) is a plus. Strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Strong proficiency in AutoCAD. Ability to automate tasks using AutoCAD macros/LISP. Working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor for basic modeling and assembly creation.
