Sr. DevOps Engineer

We are currently looking for a Software Engineer for Operations to join our operations team in Prague or Brno. The team’s responsibility is to maintain, update and improve the GoodData cloud-based SaaS platform hosted on a dedicated private cloud infrastructure.

Our Team

Our team's responsibility is to take care of the back-end of our unique analytical platform, designed for creating analytical data products for our customers. We are seeking an experienced professional who not only is familiar with server administration, scripting, and databases but who is also able to contribute to architecture and the design of distributed software using agile methodologies.

What will you do?

• Design, implement, and maintain applications, tools, and utilities for the backend services and components which are the core of the GoodData platform.

• Operations of database and application servers.

• Participate in the ongoing evolution of a fast-growing cloud SaaS platform.

• Work in an agile environment, with cooperation and active communication within an autonomous team.

• Be involved in all stages of the development lifecycle (architecture, coding, QA, delivery, ...).

• Be able to contribute also to other parts of the platform, and learn new technologies and environments.

About you

• Knowledge of at least one dynamic language (preferably Python).

• At least 3 years of experience with software development.

• Knowledge of databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL/MariaDB or similar.

• Good knowledge of a Linux environment.

• A self-learner capable of independent work.

• Active English (spoken and written).

It is nice if you have

• Experience with column-oriented databases (Vertica).

• Experience with other programming languages (Erlang, Java, Kotlin, Perl).

• An overview of agile methodologies.

• Experience with building and operating large distributed systems.

• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker.

• Experience with Puppet.

• DevOps attitude.
