Our client is one of the top Pediatric/Academic Medical Centers in the United States.

They have engaged our firm to identify new leadership for one of their most high profile and dynamic departments.

The Director of Core Infrastructure is the leader of the Infrastructure and LAN operational portfolio reporting to the CTO and is a key member of the senior management team of the Information Services Department (which consists of the senior portfolio leaders and group leaders).

The Director of Core Infrastructure has operational responsibility for managing the technology infrastructure at the health system (main campus, all satellites, and remote facilities) which includes the data center(s), the entire wired and wireless network at our client, systems and storage. Additionally, the Director of Core Infrastructure is responsible for account management, backend systems support, and infrastructure application support and security compliance.

A key dependency is a close working relationship with the Director of Support Services to ensure complete alignment of all Technology service delivery at the hospital system. Other key dependencies are to establish successful interactions with the leaders of Engineering, Security, Architecture, Cross-Functional & Testing, and Project Management Office. The Infrastructure portfolio is a key dependency for the success of the Business and Clinical Applications portfolios. The Director of Core Infrastructure responsibilities include:

Strategic planning.

Budget management and optimization.

Resource management.

Process participation and ownership.

Standards management.

Operational oversight of the technology infrastructure.

In conjunction with the CIO and CTO, the Director of Core Infrastructure acts as a liaison between technology and business and clinical strategies to help achieve alignment of business and clinical strategies and technical capabilities. In this role, the Director ensures that the quality of the service delivered meets the requirements of the clinical and business functions of the system.

Required Education and Experience:

Required Education:

Bachelors degree in the field of computer science or another rigorous discipline or equivalent industry experience.

Required Experience:

10-15 years of technology experience.

Preferred Education, Experience, Licenses and/or Certifications:

Preferred Education:

Masters degree in IS.

Additional Technical Requirements:

Provide specific knowledge and skills required for the job:

Demonstrated infrastructure, operations and engineering life cycle knowledge and experience.

Proven experience in managing Infrastructure teams.
