Sr. Director Nursing & Clinical Operations

The WelbeHealth PACE program helps seniors stay in their homes and communities by providing all-inclusive medical care and community-based services. It’s our mission to serve the most vulnerable seniors with better quality and compassion in a value-based model.

The Sr. Director Nursing & Clinical Operations is accountable for the strategy and execution of nursing success at WelbeHealth.  This includes owning the nursing training, career paths, KPIs, operational workflows and clinical protocols.  While they do not directly manage our nursing teams, they act as the strategy owner for our nursing function across all of our center-based clinics and our home health team.  They also serve as a single point of clinical escalation from the nurses working across WelbeHealth. 

This leader is a critical member of WelbeHealth’s Sr. Operations Leadership team and must be highly skilled at leading via influence in a matrixed reporting structure. This leader is a member of the WelbeHealth leadership team and facilitates collaborative relationships across WelbeHealth and with external stakeholders to promote WelbeHealth values, team culture and mission. The Sr. Director reports to the COO at hire with a dotted line to the Chief Clinical Officer.

Essential Job Duties:

Frontline Nursing Strategy and Effectiveness

• Create a strategic vision for the role of nursing at WelbeHealth that allows us to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of our nursing team and operationalizes WelbeHealth values, team culture and mission.


• In partnership with the People team: 1. Establish near-term and future talent sources, participate in recruiting, and design/execute nursing careers pathway to and within WelbeHealth 2. Review and refresh all nursing role descriptions to ensure they are in alignment with the vision 3. Dictate nursing training needs and content 4. Actively engages and participates in hiring process for key nursing roles, including but not limited to Clinic Nurse Manager roles

Clinic Nurse Manager (CNM) Oversight and Effectiveness

• Serves as the subject matter expert and discipline leader for Clinic Nurse Managers at WelbeHealth, partner with Executive Director to help mentor, coach and train CNMs as necessary for high performance across all markets


• Manage direct reports including hiring, training, supervising, and mentoring.

Clinic Operations

• Own the effectiveness of WelbeHealth clinic operations, responsible for continual evaluation of gaps in clinic operations and building plans to fix them


• Directly create and/or supervise the creation of any outstanding SOPs required for highly efficient clinic operations

Enterprise Leadership

• Serve as SME to our Launch team when we’re outfitting new clinics to ensure they meet WelbeHealth standards & pass State Readiness Reviews


• Participates in and influences strategic planning and WelbeHealth initiatives, potentially piloting and/or leading these projects.

Job Requirements:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with geriatric care clinical experience.


• 10+ years of nursing leadership in complex, high growth environments.


• Preference for a candidate located in or willing to relocate to within an hour of a WelbeHealth location.


• Direct clinic management experience, ideally overseeing organizations with 200+ nurses.


• Consistent track record of driving initiatives that improve operations effectiveness and patient experience.


• Experience presiding over a data-driven organization, leveraging reports and data to prioritize and oversee people and projects.


• Ability and willingness to be onsite in Welbe centers 25-50% of days.
