We’re seeking a Sr. Forensic Scheduler with deep expertise in delay analysis to support high-profile rail infrastructure programs. These projects often involve multiple stakeholders, evolving scopes, and complex contractual relationships—and when timelines shift, we need a sharp, experienced professional who can untangle the facts. In this role, you'll lead forensic reviews, analyze delays, assess impacts, and help our clients navigate claims, disputes, and recovery efforts with confidence. If you're highly skilled in CPM scheduling and forensic methodologies—and know how to communicate your findings to technical and legal audiences alike—this is a chance to make a direct impact on some of the most complex rail programs in the country.
This is a long-term, full-time, on-site position located in Fresno, CA.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to, the following
- Review baseline schedules to understand planned sequences, milestones, and critical paths.
- Monitor project progress against the baseline to identify and document delays, disruptions, or deviations.
- Investigate root causes of delays—such as design changes, site conditions, weather, or resourcing—and analyze their impact on project timelines and critical paths.
- Assess concurrent delays, determine cumulative effects, and help apportion responsibility among stakeholders.
- Prepare detailed forensic reports supported by organized evidence (e.g., daily logs, RFIs, meeting minutes, and correspondence).
- Provide expert-level support in legal settings, including arbitration and mediation, and communicate findings clearly to legal teams and decision-makers.
- Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans to address delays and maintain project momentum.
- Collaborate with owners, contractors, and project managers to gather input and communicate analysis results.
- Use scheduling tools such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar to manage and analyze large, complex datasets.
Attributes
- Adaptability to evolving technologies, scheduling tools, and project management systems—paired with a willingness to think creatively and apply solutions beyond standard workflows.
- Strong ability to work independently with minimal oversight, manage competing priorities, and perform under pressure.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- A collaborative mindset that builds trust, supports teamwork, and fosters strong working relationships across disciplines.
- A naturally curious, solution-oriented approach with a passion for continuous learning and improvement.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in both proactive and forensic scheduling for major rail transit programs in an owner’s representative capacity.
- Proven experience supporting large infrastructure programs ($500M+), with an emphasis on quality-driven and risk-based scheduling practices.
- Experience with alternative delivery methods (e.g., DB, CM/GC, P3).
- Advanced expertise in CPM scheduling methodologies and forensic delay analysis techniques.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and defending Time Impact Analyses (TIAs), delay claims, and recovery schedules before owners, contractors, and dispute resolution boards.
- Experience creating and presenting technical presentations in group settings and meetings.
- Proficiency with forensic scheduling tools (e.g., Acumen Fuse, Schedule Cracker, Project Analyzer, etc.)
- Proficiency with schedule risk analysis tools (e.g. Primavera Risk, Deltek Acumen Fuse, @Risk, etc.)
- Proficiency with Primavera P6 for schedule development, analysis, and updates.
- Proficiency with TILOS or other linear scheduling tools used in rail and transportation programs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in engineering or construction management.
- Active professional certifications such as PSP or PMI-SP (AACE or PMI).
- Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms for building interactive schedule dashboards and KPI visualizations.
