Sr. Heavy Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining large diesel-powered mining equipment, including equipment from leading brands such as CAT and Komatsu. The ideal candidate brings a strong mechanical background in mining environments, welding skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on heavy mobile mining equipment
• Conduct preventative maintenance,      including oil changes, brake inspections, and hydraulic repairs
• Perform welding and fabrication work as needed
• Replace ground engaging tools and other high-wear components
• Maintain service logs and maintenance records electronically
• Operate mobile equipment when necessary to support site operations
• Provide technical guidance to equipment operators
• Manage parts inventory and order supplies
• Follow all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures
• Support equipment operations and repairs with a strong focus on safety and quality workmanship

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience maintaining heavy mining equipment
• Strong experience with CAT and/or Komatsu equipment
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
• Trade school or technical certifications preferred
• CDL license preferred or willingness to obtain within 90 days
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Basic welding and fabrication skills
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, and perform outdoor work in all weather conditions
• Willingness to complete OSHA 10 and MSHA certifications
