INTECH Process Automation is looking for a Sr. I&C Design Engineer to join the team. The deal candidate will be responsible for leading the design and execution of instrumentation and control engineering activities for oil and gas projects, ensuring compliance with client requirements, international standards, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the Instrumentation & Control discipline during Conceptual, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Brownfield Modifications, and EPC phases, ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and international standards.
Develop and maintain all I&C engineering deliverables, including Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheets, Instrument Specifications, I/O Lists, Instrument Location Plans, Cable Schedules, Junction Box Schedules, Cable Block Diagrams, Interconnection Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Loop Diagrams, and Hook-up Drawings.
Prepare detailed engineering documentation such as Control Philosophy, Functional Design Specification (FDS), Cause & Effect Matrix, Alarm & Trip Philosophy, Shutdown Logic Diagrams, Instrument Installation Details, Instrument Mounting Details, and Material Take-Offs (MTOs).
Perform instrument selection and specification for field instruments, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, analyzers, control valves, on/off valves, safety instrumentation, fire & gas detection systems, and emergency shutdown (ESD) systems.
Prepare Material Requisitions (MRs), Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs), technical clarifications, and review vendor quotations and engineering documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Review vendor packages such as compressors, pumps, metering skids, wellhead control panels, chemical injection packages, package PLCs, analyzers, and fire & gas systems, ensuring proper interface with the plant control system.
Coordinate with Process Engineering to develop Instrument Process Data Sheets, verify process conditions, and ensure appropriate instrument selection, sizing, and control strategies.
Coordinate with Electrical, Mechanical, Piping, Civil, Structural, Telecom, and Process disciplines to resolve interface issues and ensure multidisciplinary design integration.
Review and verify 3D model instrumentation layouts using AVEVA E3D or Smart 3D, including instrument locations, cable tray routing, junction boxes, local control stations, control panels, accessibility, maintainability, and clash detection.
Participate in HAZOP, SIL Assessment, LOPA, HAZID, Design Reviews, Model Reviews, Constructability Reviews, and Value Engineering Workshops, implementing recommendations into the detailed design.
Ensure compliance with applicable IEC, ISA, API, IEEE, NFPA, ISO, NEMA, ANSI, ASME, and client engineering standards throughout the design lifecycle.
Provide engineering support during procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, loop checking, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), start-up, and preparation of as-built documentation.
Mentor junior I&C engineers and designers by reviewing engineering deliverables, providing technical guidance, and ensuring adherence to quality management procedures and project schedules.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics or Mechatronics Engineering.
Minimum 15 years of Instrumentation & Control design engineering experience, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
Strong knowledge and hands on experience with electronic and pneumatic field instrumentation.
Software: AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D, AVEVA Instrumentation, SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), EPLAN Electric P8, Smart 3D, Navisworks, MS Office.
Excellent leadership, client coordination, mentoring and communication skills.
