Job Description - Sr Insides Sales Rep

Description

Job purpose

As a Senior Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for managing and growing sales with existing and prospective customers. Your primary focus will be on delivering superior customer service, developing strong relationships with clients, and providing technical expertise related to HVAC/R products.

Duties and responsibilities

  •   Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions. 
  • Sales Growth: Achieve specified sales targets by identifying new sales opportunities, cross-selling, and upselling products. Increase market share of Company products.
  • Branch Profitability: As a senior salesperson on the branch team, help ensure the branch hits it’s financial target for sales and gross margin. 
  • Order Management: Process orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt and timely delivery of products.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and product knowledge to customers, offering advice and solutions for HVAC/R systems. Maintain /Increase knowledge of current Meier product offering
  • Product Knowledge: Analyze new products (features, benefits, pricing levels) and provides information to assist with inventory levels that will support sales efforts
  • Market Analysis: Stay updated with industry trends, product developments, and competitor activities to better serve customer needs and improve sales effectiveness. Analyze competitive pricing, products and provide information to help in negotiating of pricing levels for products and services
  • Problem Resolution: Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or complaints promptly, enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Training and Mentorship: Mentor junior sales staff and provide guidance to improve overall team performance.
  • Meier Core Values and Workplace Culture: Be a role model at all times to demonstrate the company’s core values and be a leader in promoting a positive work culture. 
  • Continual Training and Industry Participation: Be involved with trade associations such as RSES, ACCA and ASHRAE

  

Working conditions

  • Environment: Primarily indoor office setting with occasional travel to client sites if necessary.

Physical requirements

  • Sitting for Extended Periods: The role typically involves spending a significant amount of time seated at a desk, working on a computer or phone.
  • Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for typing, handling paperwork, and using office equipment like telephones and computers is required.
  • Visual Acuity: Good vision is necessary for reading product details, computer screens, and any written communications or reports.
  • Occasional Lifting: Lifting and carrying of materials, product catalogs, or small office equipment may occasionally be required, typically not exceeding 10-20 pounds.
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the office to service customers, meet with coworkers, fill orders. 
  • Communication: Ability to speak clearly and listen actively for phone communications with customers and team members 

Requirements

  Education, Training, Experience and Technical Knowledge: 

  • 5 years of HVAC Industry experience.
  • 5 years of Sales Experience or equivalent training
  • Strong understanding of HVAC/R products and their applications.
  • Experience with ERP and CRM software and sales support tools
  • Proven analytical skills
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient computer skills including MS office 
  • Valid driver’s license is required
