Responsibilities:

• Modernize legacy monolith applications and containerize components using Docker, deploying them in Kubernetes using Helm charts.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and GitActions.
• Gather requirements and understand the scope of upcoming projects and enhancements by consulting with Media Production Team, client managers, and business analysts.
• Collaborate with Media Engineers to understand requirements, address new file conversion formats, enhance existing transcoding profiles, verify output quality, and resolve errors by identifying appropriate encoding/decoding tools.
• Conduct research and analysis of media transcoding tools such as ImageMagick, FFMpeg, SoX, Lame, Rhozet Carbon Encoder, and Vantage to determine supported formats, output quality, and automation procedures.
• Maintain traditional transcoding firm tools and software, including version updates, security patches, operating system patches, and license upgrades, followed by complete unit testing.
• Enhance AWS-based conversion firm designed to auto-scale the system based on conversion volume, monitoring it via cloud-based services like CloudWatch and DataDog.
• Collaborate with the architect to develop REST-based web services for downstream applications integrating with the core Asset Management System, designed to be fault-tolerant using microtransactions and circuit breakers for cascaded failure scenarios.
• Support production deployment, including OS patching and monitoring multiple instances of conversion firms set up in both traditional data centers and AWS. Manage release management processes, including branch cuts, stage deployments, and coordinated production releases.
